Instructions

    • 1

Wash and dry your hair as you normally do. A pinup hairstyle is done best with dry hair.

    • 2

Separate the hair into sections and lift off the head with beauty style clips to begin your pinup hairstyle.

    • 3

Plug in large rod curling iron. Put heat setting on high. Starting at the neckline, take a small section of hair and twist it onto the curling iron rod. Remove gently. You will end up with a spiral curl inspired by the pinup hairstyle look. Repeat until you done all the sections of the hair except the crown section.

    • 4

Section off the crown of the hair with your fingers into three sections. Pin each section with a beauty style hair clip. Remove the back farthest section. Lift the hair straight up and back-comb or tease the roots.

    • 5

Spray a small amount of hair spray on the roots of the section you teased in Step 4. Comb the outer layer of the hair to smooth. Press the hair against the scalp. Push toward your forehead to raise the hair up higher. Secure with bobby pins.

    • 6

Unclip the middle section at the crown of the hair. Lightly tease and secure as you did in steps 4 & 5 to continue with the pinup hairstyle look.

    • 7

Separate the hair on the right temple side using a hairbrush. Be careful not to brush the area you secured in Step 5. Pull the hair straight back away from the face with your hands and hairbrush.

    • 8

Spray the section with a little bit of hair spray. Comb from the roots to the center of the hair shaft. Twist the hair twice with your hands to form a circle. Pin up toward the crown of the head, leaving the lower half of the hair you curled (from step 3) hanging loose. Once hair is in place, secure further with additional hairspray. Repeat this on the left side of the head. The curls do not have to be symmetrical and even for this pinup hairstyle.

    • 9

Unclip the front section of hair. Brush out with hairbrush. You're almost there on your pinup hairstyle. Part hair from left to right in the front. Remove one section lock of hair. Use your fingers to curl the hair lock into a circle. Curl it toward the face. Secure the curl with bobby pins.

    • 10

Take a center lock of hair. Use the curling iron to curl the hair away from the forehead and toward the crown of the head. Take out curling iron. Brush the lock. Use your fingers to roll the hair (as if you were putting on a hair roller) and then flatten the round lock of hair on the crown of the head in the center.

    • 11

Repeat step 11 with the bangs to continue your pinup hairstyle.

    • 12

Touch up any of the loose hair locks with the curling iron. This will complete your pinup hairstyle.
