How to Make Sure an Adsense Revenue Sharing Site Is Not a Ripoff

If you are a writer who is considering joining a site that claims to share a fixed percentage of Google Adsense revenue with you there is always the possibility you will be cheated. Here is how to find out if your revenue sharing site is being honest.

1. Before joining any article writing Adsense revenue sharing site you should check their reputation. Google the name of the site, along with "ripoff" and see if many posts come up about it. If there are not too much negative comments about it you might join, but proceed with caution.

2. A number of new Adsense revenue sharing sites promise to share 100% of revenue with you, as long as you publish an article every three days or so. If you are on a 100% revenue sharing model your Adsense code, which begins with the letters "pub" should appear on every article that you publish. To find out if you are being ripped off do the following: First log out of your account and then come back to the site and don't log in. Search for your article in the search bar. Next, after your article comes up, open it and then go to "view" at the top of your browser and "page source". All the HTML that makes up the page will be visible, including the Adsense code being displayed. Compare that code with the one in your Adsense account. It if is not the same you are being ripped off, (that is if you are supposedly under 100% revenue sharing). If you are on a fifty percent model, try several articles, over the course of an hour and note how many times your code comes up. It should be close to fifty - fifty, with the site owners code coming up half the time and your Adsense code coming up the other half of the time.

3. Set up your URL channels in Adsense by going to Advanced Reports, then Manage Channels and click on URL channels. Then click "Add URL Channel". Enter the domain name of the revenue sharing site here. Now you should be able to see the number of page views your articles get when your Adsense code is displayed. It it is way off from what the revenue sharing site shows your page views to be, you may be getting ripped off. Always read the fine print before joining any Adsense revenue sharing site. Most reserve the right to change conditions at any time and many will not allow you to remove your articles, ever.

The site above is another writers compensation site much like ehow.com. It requires that you have an adsense account. You earn 75% of the adsense earnings and 2% of all your referrals earnings. This site is not a rip off, and you can track your page impressions with google adsense channels
