How to Import Pictures Into iPhoto From a Digital Camera
iPhoto is a basic photo organization and editing program for Macintosh computers. The program allows you to import pictures off your digital camera easily onto your computer, and gives you the option to create albums with those photos, burn DVDs to share with friends and edit the photos to better suit your personal needs. If you've never used iPhoto before, importing pictures into the program from your digital camera is very easy to do and takes only a few minutes.

Wait for your photos to import. The amount of time it takes will depend on the amount of photos you have and the size of the photo files. Once they have all been imported, iPhoto will automatically switch to a photo gallery screen. All of your pictures will automatically be added to iPhoto's photo gallery, which is the main screen that the program will open up to when launched. You can access just the pictures you recently uploaded by selecting "Last Roll" from the left toolbar.
