Earn More From Articles Using Long Tail Strategies

Using "long tail" keywords and subjects is a great way to increase and maintain long term Adsense income from articles.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Focus on lasting subjects. Many writers who seek to make extra income by writing articles on sites that share advertising revenue with members use a shotgun approach when writing. A better way to keep income from articles rolling in is to focus on what are called "long tail keywords" and "long tail subjects".

  2. Step 2

Learn about long tail subjects. Long tail subjects are things that will stay in search results over the years, instead of being buried after a few weeks. For example, if you write an article about Jennifer Lopez's children, it may not be a popular topic two years from now. On the other hand if you write an article about the health benefits of fish oil it has a better chance of remaining in the search engine results. For a shot at landing even higher in the search results focus on niche topics, such as "The Benefits Of Fish Oil That Is Cold Processed", as an example.

  3. Step 3

Target long tail subjects for your article base and you will see greater Adsense earnings over time. Use an area of your personal expertise and write well researched articles that examine every aspect of something you are knowledgeable about. For example, if you are an avid fisherman, write articles about different fishing destinations, baits, etc. Smaller niches may mean smaller views but over time your earnings will be greater than for topics that are just fads or news of the day.
