How to Use a PC Joystick
Many people consider the PC joystick to be used solely for flight simulators and other flying games. That is not the case --- many different games across many different genres are now allow joystick support, opening the door to gamers who couldn't get into these games before because the controls weren't comfortable or whatnot. Thankfully, PC Joysticks are some of the easiest peripherals for any PC owner to use, provided they know what they're doing.

Remove the PC joystick from its packaging and ensure that all the components that are listed on the packaging.

Connect the PC joystick's USB cord to the corresponding USB port on your computer tower.

Turn on computer and allow it to boot into your operating system.

Insert your driver disk into your disk drive and wait for the software launcher to load.

Click "Install" and follow the instructions given by the program.

Allow the computer up to five minutes to install all of the necessary drivers and configuration software to your computer.

Reboot your computer to complete the installation.

Turn on computer and allow it to boot to your operating system.

Click "Start" once the computer is fully booted, then click "Control Panel".

Double-click "Game Controllers" and wait for the Game Controllers window to pop up.

Select your PC joystick from the list of available controllers and click "Advanced".

Go through each of the options, configuring the joystick settings to your own preferences.

Close out of the "Game Controllers" window. Your joystick is now ready for use in any game or program you wish.

Tips & Warnings
If you are using a PC joystick on a computer running Windows Vista, the computer will be able to detect your joystick, dowloading and installing the appropriate drivers automatically.
Some joysticks on the market are designed for a specific type of computer or operating system. Ensure that your PC joystick is compatible with your computer.
