How to Clean a Blu Ray Lens
Blu-Ray players can accumulate a lot of dirt and dust on delicate internal components. Over time, this buildup can affect the ability of the blu-ray laser to read movie and video-game discs when inserted in the machine. This is especially true if you rent a lot of movies and games that are handled by a lot of people, often carelessly.
If your Blu-Ray player returns a "disc error" or "no disc" message when a disc is inserted, it could be that the lens needs to be cleaned. Buy a Blu-Ray lens cleaning kit from an electronics store or big-box retailer.

Turn on the TV and Blu-Ray player.

Insert the cleaning disc in the tray, close the tray and follow the on-screen prompts on the TV monitor, by hitting the "play" button when directed. Cleaning time takes about 1 minute.

Clean stubborn deposits on a Blu-Ray player by removing the cover and cleaning the lens directly. This should only be attempted if a standard lens cleaning disc fails to work and the Blu-Ray player is out of warranty, as opening the component could void the product warranty.

Unscrew the cover from the component by removing the Phillips head screws.

Locate the disc tray inside the cabinet and press the "open" button either on the front console or the remote control to slide out the tray.

Use only a Blu-Ray cleaning disc to clean the lens of a Blu-Ray player. A DVD cleaning disc uses a tiny brush that rotates rapidly over the lens. This brush is not designed to clean the delicate lens of a Blu-Ray player and can damage the components. Disconnect the equipment from the power source before removing the cover and doing any work.

I would like to know, I would think most people too, is how to tell that the Blu-Ray Player's laser is dying or the laser lens just need claening to play discs that work before and don't now. So that people don't have to pay some so much just to check or buy a new player. Some people's players could be the high end ones like Pioneer or Oppo and not the cheaper but still good ones like Panasonic, LG or Samsung.You should really about that ehow.
