Disposable cameras are great for special occasions, trips or to save on the expense of buying a multi-use camera. They make photography accessible for everyone, taking decisions about flash, shutter speed and focus out of the photographer's hands. A few simple steps can lead to a memorable photo.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Advance the film by rotating the wheel, usually located at the upper right corner of the back of the camera.

  2. Step 2

Depress the flash button. On most cameras, it is on the front of the camera on the left. You may need to hold it briefly while the flash charges.

  3. Step 3

Look through the viewfinder and set up your shot. Stand at least 3 feet away, but not more than 20 feet from your subject. Press the shutter button. It is usually located on the top of the camera.

  4. Step 4

Take the camera to a store or photo lab or send it in a photo mailer to get your pictures developed. Decide how many of each photo you want and whether you want a CD.

  5. Step 5

Post pictures from the CD on the Web or email to friends and family.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you are inside using a flash, you must be within 12 feet of your subject for the flash to be effective.
