Outlook 2007 contains user profiles, which contain email addresses, calendars, tasks, contacts and data folders. An Outlook profile can contain multiple email accounts or mailboxes, allowing you to manage messages from multiple email accounts. When sending an mail, you can also select the email address from which to transmit (for example, a family or business email address). Outlook can configure mailboxes from different server types: Exchange server, POP3, IMAP or HTTP (Internet-based). Outlook can only set up one Exchange server per user profile; configuration settings for the Exchange server should be obtained before setting up this email account on Outlook.

Difficulty: Easy

Tips & Warnings
  • Name your email accounts with an identifiable label to easily differentiate among the mailboxes, such as "Family," "Yahoo" or "Primary work." The Mail option in the Control Panel will appear after you've initialized Outlook for first-time use.
