Wrap it around your head to mimic a headband. Fold it a few times until it's about 1 to 2 inches thick, wrap it around the top of your head and tie behind your neck.

Use it to cover up a plain hair elastic and spruce up your ponytail. Wind the hair scarf around the elastic twice, and tie above it or behind the neck.

    • 3

Cover thinning hair by folding the hair scarf in half diagonally so that it forms a triangle. Place the straight side (the bottom part of the triangle) against your hair line and let the pointy end of the triangle run down the length of your hair. Tie the opposite ends of the triangle behind your neck.

Weave the hair scarf into your braids to give your hair a fancy, whimsical look. Fold the scarf into a thin, 1-inch-wide strip. Place the scarf across your head like a headband, letting the opposite ends slide down either side of your head. Use hair clips to hold the scarf in place. Start braiding your hair into pigtails using the ends of the scarf in place of the third strand of hair. Secure the finished braids with hair elastics.

Tips & Warnings

  • Secure the scarf with bobby pins to prevent it from sliding off your hair.
