The uTorrent client is used for peer-to-peer file sharing on personal computers. You can configure uTorrent through its user interface just as you can with most software applications. However, uTorrent can also be configured and managed through a browser-based user interface. For example, you can add or remove torrents from the queue and hide or show the uTorrent toolbar, torrents detail pane and category list. You must configure uTorrent through the regular user interface before you can access the uTorrent WebUI.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Click the "Options" link in the uTorrent menu bar, then click "Preferences" in the drop-down menu. This opens the Preferences window.

  2. Step 2

Click the "Web UI" link in the left-side navigation pane of the Preferences window. This sets the right-side content pane to the Web UI page.

  3. Step 3

Click to check the box next to "Enable Web UI." Configure any additional settings you may want, such as a user name and password, then click the "Apply" button.

  4. Step 4

Click the "OK" button to close the Preferences window.

  5. Step 5

Type the following into the address bar of your web browser, substituting your actual IP address for "yourip" and the port through which uTorrent connects to the Internet for "yourport":
    http://yourip:yourport/gui/
This opens the uTorrent Web UI and completes the process.
