How to Copy a Flash Video From the Web

The Flash format is the most popular for presenting videos online. Virtually every major outlet uses it, including YouTube (which itself is the largest provider of videos on the web). But wouldn't it be great if you could download a copy of your favorite video from YouTube, so that you didn't have to reload it every time you wanted to see it? Now there is an easy way to do it.

      Go to YouTube (see Resources). Find a video of which you would like a copy.

      Let the video load. You don't have to let it play out. Now go to the address bar at the top. Highlight the "youtube" in the address (leaving the rest of the address alone), and type in "voobys". Hit "Enter" on your keyboard.

      Click "Download Video" on the new page that pops up, and in the box that pops up, click "Save". Then name the video and click "Save." In a few minutes, depending on your connection speed, your video will be downloaded.
