How to Draw Ben 10

Ben 10 is a strange young man indeed. Aside from dealing with the typical problems of a young adult male, Ben 10 often finds the entire fate of the world in his hands. He uses his unique set of superpowers to fight off invaders and strange aliens from other planets. Ben can transform himself into different forms, each with its own special power and style. However, it is Ben's own strength of character that makes him a true superhero.

Instructions

1. 

   Draw Ben's head with a large oval that comes to a point at the bottom of the head. Draw the the skeletal frame for the body. Add the neck guideline with vertical line coming down from the chin. Add the chest with a rectangular shape. Draw the shoulder guidelines with two circles that slightly overlap the upper left and right corners of the chest. Add the upper arm guideline with a diagonal line coming off the shoulder. Add the elbow at the base of the arm with a small circular guideline.

2. Draw the left-side forearm with diagonal line that points toward the chest. Add the right-side forearm with a diagonal line that heads diagonally up and to the left. Add the hand guideline with small circle at the end of the forearm. Draw a vertical line down the center of Ben's head. Add two curved lines across the middle of the face.

3. 

   Create Ben's eyes with two circles on the top curved horizontal guideline on the face. Create a pupil inside the eyes with a small circle. Add the eyebrows with two very thin, long triangular shapes just above the eyes. Draw the nose with a curved line just to the left of vertical line and on the bottom curved line. Add the mouth with a curved diagonal line under the nose.

4. Draw the neck with two lines coming down from the bottom left and right side of the jaw with the neck guideline in the middle. Draw parallel lines around the upper arms and forearms. Add Ben's ears with a curved "C" shape line to the left and right side of the head.

5. 

   Draw Ben's hair with a line that swoops from the right-side ear and continues around the top of the head adding two tufts of hair with curved triangular shapes. Continue this line around the left side of the head that curved into another triangular shape before popping back out from one more triangular tuft of hair. Add another tuft of hair with a curved triangular shape at the bottom right side of the head. Add Ben's watch with a curved band around the right-side wrist. Add a circle in the center of the watch. Add the look of a ringer tee with a curved band around the base of the neck and another around each arm.

6. 

   Erase any overlapping guidelines, leaving behind only the final illustration. Ink the final picture with black ink to make the image stand out. Let the ink dry for five minutes and then use your kneaded eraser to remove the pencil from under the ink.

Tips & Warnings

• Keep the eyes large, as this gives Ben a youthful and cartoon-like appearance.

• Don't add too much detail, or you will ruin the simple lines that make this a cartoon-style illustration.
