1
Open a text editor or your favorite HTML editing software. The program must allow you to edit your website's meta tags. Meta tags describe the content in your site, providing search engines and other Internet crawling software with keywords and a description of your web site.
-
2
Review your meta tags. Remove any words or phrases that might indicate objectionable content.
-
-
3
Remove or rewrite any content that might indicate a risque or pornographic website, a site promoting gaming or gambling, or wording that might indicate your website is a proxy server.
-
4
Remove discussion forums and links to social networking tools. If there is a blog on your website, turn off the ability for visitors to submit comments. Websense keeps track of websites with these features, and some companies consider them productivity killers and may block the sites even if there is no objectionable content.
