How to Get on Stumbleupon

Stumbleupon is a personalized version of a search engine that only displays relevant information based on your web surfing habits and the types of topics that you like to read about. Stumbleupon can be a very useful for website owners to use as a marketing tool to get their information or products to people who are interested in the website's content. You can get your web page on the Stumbleupon service by signing up for the program and then adding the page by using the Stumbleupon tool bar.

Instructions

1. Follow the link in the Resources section to the sign up web page for the Stumbleupon service. Type your current email address into the corresponding text box at the top of the screen. Hit the "Tab" key to move down to the next field.

2. 

   Type in your desired user name and then hit the "Tab" key and type in the password that you want to use for Stumbleupon. Choose your birth date from the drop-down menu and then click on the radio button that corresponds to your gender.

3. 

   Type the security password displayed at the bottom of the screen into the security password text box. Click on the "Join Now" button to sign up for the Stumbleupon service.

4. Click on the link to download the Stumbleupon tool bar. Close down your web browser once the installation has completed and then open it back up again to load the Stumbleupon tool bar.

5. Navigate the browser to your web page. Click on the green icon of a fist giving a thumbs up sign at the top of your web browser. Type a description of your website into the "Review" text field.

6. Click on the "Topics" button and then select the topic from the drop-down menu that most closely matches your website. Click on the "Yes" radio button if your website contains adult content. Click on the "Submit This Site" button to add your website to the Stumbleupon search service.

Tips & Warnings

• If your web page is already included in the Stumbleupon archives it will not be added a second time and you will receive a message letting you know that the web page already exists.

• If your web page contains adult content but you do not click on the "Yes" button your site will be removed from the Stumbleupon service and your account may be permanently deleted.
