Is your picture perfect except for some reversed text? Or maybe you'd prefer people standing on opposite sides of the image? Or how would you like that tree on the left to change places with the bush on the right? Among its many image-enhancing capabilities, Photoshop can flip such distortions. These procedures apply specifically to Photoshop CS2 for Windows XP but works in general for all versions of Photoshop.

Instructions

Choose the "Open" option from the "File" menu to display the "Open" dialog box. If you have too many files to search manually, type the first few letters in the "File Name" box. A drop down appears showing all the files in the folder that match those letters.

Find the picture you need and double-click it. The file appears in the document display window. If you are seeing only part of the picture because it is too big, choose the "View" menu and then the "Fit on Screen" option. The picture view will be reduced.

    • 3

Choose the "All" option from the "Select" menu to place a selection box around the entire picture. Any Photoshop option now applies to the entire picture.

Adjust the image as needed. When you are finished, choose "Deselect" from the "Select" menu to remove the selection box.

    • 6

Choose the "Save As" option from the "File" menu and save the changed photo under a different name. Keep the original in case you are dissatisfied with the changes and want to return to it.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you're saving the image for the web, choose the "Save for Web" option. This displays a "Save for Web" dialog box where you can adjust the picture quality and size. Choose the JPEG option, which is the most common web image format.
