A cold sore or fever blister may start out as a tingly or itchy feeling on your lip. This is the best time to begin a natural treatment plan to help the fever blister heal faster.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Apply an ice cube to the cold sore, two or three times a day. This will help alleviate the pain from the cold sore, and prevent further development.

  2. Step 2

Apply a soaked teabag for five to ten minutes every hour. The tannic acid in the teabag has some anti viral properties, and will retard the formation of the cold sore.

Apply a small dab of honey to the cold sore. Honey contains antiviral properties, and is also an anti fungal, so it will speed up the healing of the cold sore.

  4. Step 4

Put a small amount of lemon balm extract on the cold sore. Lemon balm is very soothing and healing, and will help eliminate the cold sore.

  5. Step 5

Take some extra vitamin B complex vitamins, folic acid is helpful in the healing of fever blisters and cold sores.

Tips & Warnings
  • If your cold sore doesn't heal itself within a week, see your physician.
