How to Treat Inflammatory Acne
Acne is caused by overactive sebaceous glands in your skin. The glands produce excess amounts of a substance called sebum, which clogs your pores and causes blackheads. Blackheads are the ideal breeding ground for a bacterium called Propionibacterium acnes, which causes inflammatory acne.

1
Wash your skin twice a day using a medicated face wash. Check that the ingredients contain salicylic acid, which promotes the shedding of dead skin cells and keeps the pores from becoming clogged.
-
2
Use a gentle exfoliating scrub at least 3 to 4 times a week. This will keep your pores clear, and your skin smooth and soft.

3
Apply astringent all over the skin using the cotton pad. It will close up your pores. If you have sensitive skin, use an alcohol-free astringent.
-
4
Apply a medicated lotion containing Benzoyl Peroxide. Benzoyl Peroxide kills the bacteria that causes acne.
-
5
See a dermatologist if your skin doesn't improve. A dermatologist can prescribe oral and topical antibiotics for severe acne breakouts.
