Draw Lowrider Trucks

Lowrider trucks have a distinct style and personality even among other lowrider vehicles. Most trucks are known for having large, high wheels, so when a lowrider truck emerges on the scene, it really turns heads. If you are a fan of the lowrider culture, drawing your own lowrider truck can be a great way to test out design ideas and show your true colors as a lowrider fan. Use your drawing as a template for design and paint scheme ideas or keep it as a piece of artwork.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pencil
  • Black ink pen
  • Kneaded eraser
  1. Step 1

Draw the body of the truck with a large, rectangular cube. Do this by drawing a diagonally turned rectangle and add vertical lines coming down from the upper-left, lower-left and bottom-right corners. Attach two diagonal lines that are parallel to the left and bottom sides of the diagonal triangle. This will create the cube shape.

  2. Step 2

Draw the lowrider wheels with two half circles under the bottom-left and bottom-right corners of the side of the truck. Draw the front windshield of the lowrider truck with a diagonal trapezoid that is wider at the bottom than the top. Attach the cab to the front windshield by adding a horizontal line coming off the upper-left corner of the windshield and a slightly diagonal vertical line to the horizontal line.

  3. Step 3

Draw the bumper of the lowrider truck with a diagonal rectangle running across the bottom front of the truck. Add the doors with two vertical lines coming down from the side of the cab. Add the side window with a square drawn in between the right side of the windshield and the back of the cab. Add a side-view mirror with a small rectangle at the bottom-left corner of the side-view window.

  4. Step 4

Draw the grill on the lowrider truck with three horizontal lines running across the front of the truck. Add two vertical lines that split the grill into three even sections. Add a diagonal line running up the hood of the truck. Add a rectangle to each side of the grill to create headlights.

  5. Step 5

Erase any overlapping lines on your lowrider illustration. Ink the entire illustration and let the ink dry for five minutes. Carefully erase the pencil with a kneaded eraser.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use a ruler when drawing the basic shapes to ensure straight lines.
  • Be sure to let the ink dry for five minutes before erasing the pencil or the illustration will smudge.
