Instructions

    • 1

Wash the window's interior with a glass cleaner and newspapers.

    • 2

Use painters tape to cover window sills and other nearby areas you don't want to spray with the fake snow. Cover any nearby furniture with drop cloths if they are directly beneath the window.

    • 3

Prepare the fake snow. Make sure the artificial snow has been at room temperature for at least three hours. Shake the can well, and spray about four short bursts on a piece of newspaper to get the liquid out of the tube.

    • 4

Apply snow to the window. Hold the can vertically about 1 foot from the window's surface. Spray in a slower motion around the corners and window's edges. Move the can faster as you move toward the center of the window.

    • 5

Remove after the holidays. To avoid being one of those people who still has holiday décor hanging around months after the fact, clean the snow off the windows. Place a drop cloth beneath the window area, and simply wipe off the snow with a clean, dry cloth. For good measure, wash the window interior once snow is removed.

Tips & Warnings

  • For a more artistic effect, use painters tape to attach stencils to the window before spraying the snow. Spray the snow in the stencil openings to spell out words or create a holiday scene. Stencils, fake snow and other supplies are available at craft and hardware stores.

  • If the sprayer becomes clogged during decorating, take off the spray tip, and insert a thin wire into the opening on the tip.
