How to Clean a Trackball Mouse
A trackball mouse is a great alternative to the traditional mouse. A trackball mouse allows you to maneuver the cursor around your screen without having to move the whole mouse around on your desk. Instead you move the little trackball in the mouse around with your thumb. However, just like a traditional mouse, a trackball mouse can be rendered useless if dirt builds up inside it, making it hard to maneuver.

1
Flip the mouse over. Locate the hole on the bottom of the mouse, through which you can see the trackball.
-
2
Place the mouse in your palm so that your hand will catch the trackball. Stick the eraser end of your pencil through this hole to separate the trackball from the rest of the mouse.

3
Dip a Q-tip in your window cleaning solution and gently wash the build up from the bearings of the mouse in the trackball window.
-
4
Gently clean the sensor. Make sure you are gentle so as not to scratch or otherwise damage the sensor.
-
5
Go over the areas that you just cleaned with the dry end of a Q-tip.
-
6
Pop the trackball back into the mouse and test it to make sure that it is good and clean. If you notice it still dragging and skipping, remove the track ball again and repeat the process to remove any buildup that might have been left behind.
