1
Use a tennis ball and simply try to rub out the scuff mark on the floor. While it seems simple, the tennis ball has the soft surface that you will want so you don't damage the floor, as well as the hard core that will allow you to apply a lot of pressure. If this doesn't work, continue on.

2
Wipe the scuff mark with a damp sponge just to get it a little moist. Then use an eraser (like one you would use for pencil) and attempt to "erase" the scuff mark. Sweep or vacuum the area to get rid of the eraser shavings. This will have a similar effect to the tennis ball, only it will be a harder surface. Continue to the next step if the eraser didn't work.

Put a little bit of olive oil on a clean rag and try to rub out the mark with the rag. You will also want to make sure that you clean up the oil using standard wood cleaner when you are finished. If the mark remains, continue on to the next step.

Mix a paste of one tablespoon baking soda and two tablespoons water in a bowl. Apply this mixture to the scuff mark on the floor. Work it into the floor with a clean rag and then wipe the mixture up off the floor. Again, you may want to clean the floor with standard floor cleaner to get the remaining mixture off of the floor.

5
Scrub in some neutral shoe polish into the wood where the scuff mark is. Work the polish into the wood, and it should remove the mark fairly rapidly. Make sure not to use too much polish in one area.
