If there's a photo attached to an email message that you've opened on your iPhone, it's easy to save the photo on the iPhone. The iPhone saves the photo in the Camera Roll, the same place the iPhone stores the photos you take using the iPhone's camera.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Open the photo you want to save

  1. Step 1

Start the iPhone's Mail app by touching the Mail icon found on your iPhone's apps list.

  2. Step 2

Touch Inbox or other Mail folder that contains a saved email message.

  3. Step 3

Touch an email message that has an attached photo. (Look for a message with a paper clip next to it.)

  4. Step 4

At the bottom of the message's text, touch the icon that represents the saved photo. This opens the photo for viewing.

  5. Save the photo

  6. Step 1

While viewing the photo, touch the screen for a second or two.

  7. Step 2

When the prompt appears, touch Save Photo. This saves the photo to the iPhone's Camera Roll.

  8. Step 3

To make sure that the photo was saved, touch the iPhone's Home button to return to the apps list, then touch the Photos icon to open your Saved Photos list.

  9. Step 4

Scroll among the list of Saved Photos to find the photo that you just saved from the email message.

  10. Step 5

Touch the item in the Saved Photos list to view the saved photo.
