Double-edged razor blade have four sides, all of which are sharp. They are rectangular, and the two longer sides are extremely sharp.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Open the razor. Double-edged razors open in one of two ways. Hold the upper stem of the razor taut with one hand and turn the lower portion of the stem clockwise. If that doesn't work, gently hold the ends of razor head taut with one hand while turning the stem clockwise.

  2. Step 2

Open the razor head. This is done in one of two ways. Typically, it opens from the center, like a drawbridge. If your razor doesn't open that way, the top of the razor should simply rise as you turn the stem. Once fully open, lift off the safety guard, fully exposing the double-edged razor blade.

  3. Step 3

Touching only the ends, gently lift the razor blade off the spindle and dispose of it safely. In the same manner, slide the new razor blade onto the spindle. Now, close the head of the razor in the same manner you opened it, this time turning the stem counter-clockwise.

Tips & Warnings
  • Dispose of double-edged razor blades safely. Do not touch the sides of a double-edged razor blade. Always handle by the ends.
