How to Get Green Monster Tickets at Fenway Park

Finding a ticket for a seat behind the left-field wall in Boston's Fenway Park -- famously known as the Green Monster -- can be expensive and take a little luck. When you’re sitting in one of the 274 seats atop the 37-foot high wall that’s just 310 feet away from home plate, you’re up high enough to get a panoramic view of the Red Sox game and yet close enough where you better be ready with a glove to catch home run balls. To have the Green Monster experience, you'll need to purchase tickets through the baseball team -- which uses a lottery and dynamic pricing system -- or buy tickets from a third-party vendor or private reseller.

Getting Tickets

  • In 2015, the Red Sox announced their Green Monster dynamic pricing system, which means prices go up or down depending on the demand that fluctuates based on factors such as the opponent and how well the home side is doing. You must register for a random drawing in February to have the opportunity to purchase tickets through the Red Sox, at $165 per ticket, face value. Periodically, however, the Red Sox will release tickets on a first-come, first-served basis. The Red Sox also offer certain packages, like the Ultimate Monster Road Trip, which comes with a Green Monster ticket, as well as food, memorabilia, a tour of Fenway and hotel accommodations, which cost $1,000 to $1,300 per person. Winners of the lottery will often purchase and then resell tickets privately or through a third-party ticket reseller. Make sure the reseller is licensed and has a guarantee policy to protect your purchase.
