How to Style New Short Hair Styles
New short hair styles are great if you don't want to fuss much with hair. They're also good for hot climates and easy to color. The only problem is that you have to cut them often or else they get into a grow out stage that is hard to handle. Therefore, it's best to book hair cut appointments every four to five weeks to avoid bad hair days and anxiety attacks. Does this Spark an idea?

New short hair styles are easy to style as long as you have a blow dryer, gel, mousse or hair spray. These products help to get the style as well as hold it. This means that when you have a new short cut you need to ask the stylist which styling aids will work best on your hair. The texture and density of the hair will determine which product to use.

If you have thin fine hair it's best to use mousse as opposed to gel if you want volume, since gel is a bit heavy and may weigh hair down. That is, unless you water the gel down and use less product. You can do this by placing a dime size spot of gel in your hand and mixing it with water and rubbing hands together then applying to the hair gently with fingertips from the root out.

Hair should be towel dried and not full of water for best results and blow dried using a good styling brush, fingers or both. In addition, keep tension on the hair while drying. The goal is to dry from the scalp out if hair stays damp at the scalp you will not be able to keep volume. Once hair is dry use hair spray on roots or apply it to fingers and target specific areas. Keep spray at a distance when spraying for even coverage.

When you have a new short hair style that doesn't require volume then comb the gel or mousse through and shape hair into the desired style. It will take longer to let it dry naturally, but if you're in no hurry it's the best option. Alternatively, you can use a diffuser to dry faster and seal with freezing spray.
Don't be afraid to cut off your long locks and get a new short style after all it grows back and if you like it you may never want long hair again.
