Clothing swaps are a great way to empty your closet of unwanted clothes.

Clothing swaps are a fun way to clean out your closet, get free clothes, and socialize with friends. Guests bring unwanted clothing and go home with new clothing for free. It is easy to organize and host a clothing swap, and you are sure to have a good time.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Invite several friends to come to your home for a clothing swap.

  2. Step 2

Decide what type of clothing you want to swap. For example, you can swap womens clothing, season-specific clothing, mens clothing, and childrens clothing.

  3. Step 3

Inform each person attending the clothing swap on how the clothing swap works. Tell them to bring any unwanted clothing. If you are holding a clothing swap that includes childrens clothing, ask people to only bring clothes that are free of holes and stains.

  4. Step 4

Provide snacks and refreshments for the guests attending the clothing swap.

  5. Step 5

Provide at least one full length mirror for guests, so they can model the clothes.

  6. Step 6

Provide a place for people to try on clothes, or suggest that people where bathing suits if they are modest.

  7. Step 7

Pile all the clothes on a bed for people to rummage through. You may also ask guests to separate out the clothing they bring to the swap into piles of womens, childrens, pants, shirts, dresses, etc.

  8. Step 8

Have guests sift through the clothes to find clothing they like. If someone finds something they like they must try it on before they take it. This adds a fun element to the clothing swap.

  9. Step 9

Donate any leftover clothing to a thrift store or charity.
