How to Delete Cursor Mania

Cursor Mania is a software program you can download that allows you to choose from thousands of free cursors. You can use it to install a new cursor or mouse pointer that is colorful and animated. But Cursor Mania has a reputation for causing systems to run noticeably slower. It also installs an additional Internet Explorer toolbar. IE add-ons such as this can cause the Web browser to become unstable. If you have downloaded Cursor Mania and Internet Explorer is crashing or your computer is sluggish, you might want to remove it.

Instructions

1. 

   Click the "Start" button and open "Control Panel." Double click "Add/Remove Programs." If you are using Windows Vista, open "Programs and Features" from the Control Panel.

2. 

   Scan the list of installed programs. Select "My Web Search" and click "Uninstall." Also uninstall "My Way Speedbar" and "Search Assistant--My Way" if they are present.

3. 

   Restart the computer when all of these items have been uninstalled.

4. 

   Open "My Computer" (or "Computer" on Windows Vista) and double click "Local Disk (C:)." Double click the "Program Files" folder. Find the folders named "FunWebProducts" and "MyWebSearch." Click each one to select it. Right click and choose "Delete."

5. 

   Run a spyware removal software program such as Adaware or Spybot to remove any remaining files or registry entries belonging to Cursor Mania.
