Do you have tons of poetry, but no idea of where to go to publish it? While print journals and magazines still remain a viable option, the competition can be overly fierce. While there is still plenty of competition online, there are also more opportunities for poets to not only publish, but to also sell their poetry online. The first step is finding quality markets. While "Writer's Market" might cover the print markets well, there are literally thousands of markets online for fiction writers and poets alike. The best resource I've found online by far is Duotrope.com, link at the bottom. They have literally thousands of markets and a great search engine.

Find online poetry journals that look like they match your style or might be open to your particular type of poetry. The closer the match stylistically, the better your chance of getting published and paid.

Send out a lot of submissions. Writers not only write, but they are also constantly sending out their stories, poems, essays, and other materials to be considered for publication. Keep sending out your stuff.

If you have a lot of related or similar themed poems, consider entering poetry chapbook competitions online, or even self publishing your own chapbook of poems to sell.

Keep sending out poems. A professor once told me: "the best writers don't get published - the most persistent ones do."
Keep very good track of which poems are submitted where, especially since many publications allow you to submit a group of poems.
