Things You'll Need

  • 3 c. Strawberries
  • 1 T. Corn Starch
  • 1/2 c. Sugar
  • 1 c. Water
  • 1 c. Flour
  • 1 t. Baking Powder
  • 1/2 t. Salt
  • 3/4 stick cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1/4 c. Boiling Water
  • Preheat your oven to 425 degrees.

  • To make the strawberry sauce, combine sugar with the cornstarch and water in a medium saucepan.

  • Cook over medium heat until thickened. Add strawberries, and remove from heat.

  • Pour strawberry sauce into a 2-quart baking dish and set aside.

  • To make the dumplings, stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  • Cut in the butter with a pastry blender or 2 butter knives until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gently stir in water until just combined.

  • Dollop spoonfuls of the flour mixture over the top of the strawberry sauce and for 25 minutes or until the dumplings are golden brown.
