Long, thick eyelashes are the foundation of any beauty look. When applied correctly, mascara can make eyes appear larger and brighter. Keep reading to learn how to apply mascara in a way that will make your lashes look thicker and longer.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Choose a good lash thickening mascara makeup product. Some relatively cheap mascara brands do the job just as well as the expensive ones; find one that suits your eyelashes and your pocket book.

  2. Step 2

Choose a mascara color; blackest black mascara makes for a dramatic makeup effect while dark bluish mascara can be less harsh and better for lighter colored eyes.

  3. Step 3

Consider your mascara wand when choosing a lash thickener. Some wands have sparse brushes that are mean more for lash definition and separation, while the thicker mascara wands can create a thicker lash that is less likely to clump.

  4. Step 4

Before applying mascara, always curl your eyelashes to make them appear longer. Curl once at the base of the eyelash, once in the middle, and again at the lash ends.

  5. Step 5

When applying mascara, start at the eyelash roots, and wiggle the mascara wand outward towards the end of the lash.

  6. Step 6

For thicker eyelashes, apply several coats of mascara.
