Step 1
In order to track cell phones, you must have the cell phone you wish to track in your possession. You will need to load cell phone tracking software that will enable you to track the cell phone at any time.

Two of the most popular cell phone tracking software programs are Wherify and uLocate. I prefer Wherify over uLocate personally. Not only will you be able to track your child, but you will also be able to find you or your child's phone if it becomes lost or stolen.

A more intrusive method is to install a GPS chip in the phone. Be careful with this though because anyone who knows the serial number for the GPS chip could be able to track the phone as well.

You need to install the software on your computer to be able to track a cell phone. This software usually links up with Google maps and Mapquest to show the location on the map. Some programs are more accurate than others. Don't expect to be able to pin point the location though.

Step 5
Whatever tracking method you use, it must be activated before using it. Each software program you purchase to track cell phones should come with directions on how to install and activate it.
