Instructions

1. 

   Visit the site, http://www.myflorida.com/accessflorida
   (Florida Department of Children and Families)

2. 

   Click the button next to "Apply for benefits", then the "continue" tab.

   Select who you are applying for (you, you & your family, or someone else besides yourself ).

   Next, select "Food Stamps".

3. 

   Click the "Continue" tab.

   At this point you will be given an access online number. Make sure you print or write down this number for future references.

   Create a password, and save that information also for future references.

   Next, press the "Continue" tab.

   Fill out the application completely.

   Eligibility Requirements:
   IDENTITY = Must show proof of their identity.

   WORK RULES = Healthy adults, 18 to 50 years of age, who do not have dependent children or is not pregnant can only receive food stamp benefits for 3 months in a 3 yr. period, if they do not work/ or they are in a work fare program.

   INCOME AND DEDUCTIONS = Households must have total monthly, gross income of a certain amount.

   RESIDENT = Must live in Florida

   CITIZENSHIP = Must be a U.S. citizen, or a qualified non-citizen.

   SSN = Must have a Social Security Card or show proof that you have applied for one.

   CHILD SUPPORT COOPERATION = Must cooperate with the state for Florida's child support enforcement agency.

   ASSETS = Must be within a certain limit.

5. 

   It may take 7 to 30 days to process your food stamp application.
   Expedited households may receive food stamp benefits within seven days.
   **You may be accused of a crime if you give answers that are not true to get benefits.
