They eyebrows frame the face. Sparse eyebrows do not frame they face well or highlight the eyes. Eyebrows can become sparse for a number of reasons. Over-plucking brows, genetics, aging, illnesses and treatment for illnesses can all contribute to sparse brows. If eyebrows are sparse it is best to groom them and fill them in with brow shadow or pencil to give them a fuller look. Here is how to wax sparse eyebrows.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cream eyebrow wax with strips
  • Gentle cleanser and towel
  • Aquaphor or Vaseline
  1. Step 1

Buy a cream eyebrow wax. A wax can be found at discount and drug stores and beauty supply shops. A cream eyebrow wax is ideal for sparse eyebrows because it is gentler on the skin and easier to control than other methods. Because you can control the application easier, you are not as likely to remove eyebrow hairs you want to keep.

  2. Step 2

Pull your hair back so you can clearly see your eyebrows and face. Gently wash your face and pat dry.

  3. Step 3

Decide what shape you would like for your eyebrows. For sparse brows you will not have much choice, but you will be able to decide where to start the brow and end it and how high to arch the brow. As a rule of thumb you can line a pencil up with the inner corner of your eye and start the brow there. For the arch, have more of an arch if you have a lot of eyelid and less when you don't have much lid.

  4. Step 4

Warm the wax. Warming time will vary according to which wax you buy. Apply the wax carefully with the applicator to the hair you want to remove--and avoiding the hair you do not want to remove.

  5. Step 5

Cover the waxed area with a strip and press so the strip adheres. Pull the skin tight. With one motion rip the strip off in the opposite direction of the hair growth. Repeat this procedure for hair above the brow and on the bridge of the nose.

  6. Step 6

Use a petrolatum product such as Aquaphor or Vaseline to remove excess wax. Leave a light coating of the petrolatum product on the eyebrow area for several hours to soothe it.
