Download and install the Xilisoft RM Converter from the Xilisoft website. The Xilisoft RM Converter is free to download and try but you will need to pay for a license to keep it. (2009 Xilisoft RM Converter license: $29.95.)

Open the Xilisoft RM Converter on your computer and click the "Add Files" button. Select the RMVB files you want to convert.

Locate the drop-down menu near the word "Profile." Use the drop-down to select WMV as your output file type.

Click the "Browse" button by the "Destination" field, which is directly under "Profile." Select the destination on your computer where you want the WMV files to be saved.

Click the convert button on the toolbar. It has the image of a filmstrip with a green arrow on it. A progress bar at the bottom of the screen will show you the status of the conversion. Click "OK" when the pop-up appears letting you know that the conversion was a success. The new files will be in the destination folder for you to use.
