How to Convert ASF to MPEG Free
The Advanced Streaming Format (ASF) is a file extension used to save either audio or video files. ASF is meant to be a cross platform extension that can be opened by nearly any standard video playback software program. There are a few playback programs that are unable to open ASF files such as those found on handheld devices. You may convert ASF files to a different format such as the Motion Picture Experts Group (MPEG) extension if you are having trouble getting the ASF file to play correctly.

Tips & Warnings
Make an extra copy of the original ASF file and save it to a different folder before you run the conversion software. If the conversion fails for some reason, the ASF file can become corrupted which will render it unusable.
