Every networking device has a MAC address, which stands for Media Access Control. The MAC address is a number used by network adapters to uniquely identify a device on a LAN. You can find your device's MAC address in a few steps.

Instructions

1. Click "Start," "All Programs," "Accessories" and then "Command Prompt."

2. Type "ipconfig/all" without the quotes. Press "Enter."

3. Look at the numbers next to Physical Address. Those numbers are your MAC address.

Tips & Warnings

• Your MAC Address can also be found using third-party networking utilities or by checking the network adapter properties under Device Manager.
