It is very easy to make your own deodorant from natural and homemade ingredients and takes very little time or effort. Not only is homemade deodorant more cost effective than expensive store bought bath and beauty products, but it is just as effective at it's job and is great for those that prefer natural skin care.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Fragrance free talcum powder
  • Arrowroot powder
  • Bicarbonate of soda
  1. Step 1

The following homemade deodorant recipe is for a fragrance free deodorant power that can be used on the underarms or feet to help control unwelcome body odors. This particular homemade natural deodorant is a great choice for those with sensitive skin that require gentle ingredients, as well as for those that prefer a deodorant that is not scented with overpowering chemical fragrances.

  2. Step 2

To make this homemade deodorant recipe, you will first need to gather your ingredients. You will need 1 cup fragrance free talcum powder, 1 cup arrowroot powder, and 2 teaspoons bicarbonate of soda. Make sure that you purchase high quality ingredients with no additional preservatives or chemicals, so that your natural deodorant stays natural and does not become laden with chemicals.

  3. Step 3

In a small mixing bowl, blend together all of your ingredients using a small spoon or fork. For best results, process these natural skin care ingredients through a kitchen sieve so thoroughly blend them together and help make a fine powder.

  4. Step 4

Once your ingredients are blended together, store in an air-tight container. If too much moisture is allowed to get to your homemade natural deodorant, the powder can cake and become difficult to apply.

  5. Step 5

Apply your homemade deodorant to your underarms in the morning, and throughout the day as needed. You do not need to apply a lot of the powder, a small amount will suffice. You can also use the powder on any other area of your body that is prone to sweating, to prevent body odor from occurring. This homemade deodorant recipe also makes a wonderful foot deodorant, so if you suffer from stinky feet, sprinkle some of the homemade deodorant into your shoes and apply to your feet as well.

Tips & Warnings
  • As with any bath and beauty products, always use a small portion on a test spot of your skin, to ensure there is no negative skin reaction.
