How to Turn Your Keyboard Into an International Keyboard - Windows Vista

It may seem like the only way to change your keyboard to an international keyboard would be to place an order for a new keyboard at an out of country computer store, but it is actually a lot more simple and cheaper than that.

All you need is a Windows computer and the keyboard you already have.

Using an international keyboard can make typing accents and symbols a breeze, no more typing codes.

Follow these few simple steps and you will be on your way.

Things You'll Need:

  • Windows Vista computer
  • Keyboard
  1. Step 1

    Open up your Control Panel

    (Click Start, Control Panel)

  2. Step 2

    Double click to open the Clock, Language, Region icon.

  3. Step 3

    In the new window that appears click the Change Keyboards button.

  4. Step 4

    Another new window will appear. Click the Add button.

  5. Step 5

    Click United States-International keyboard option.

  6. Step 6

    Click Ok

  7. Step 7

    Click the drop down Default Input Language menu and select United States International.

  8. Step 8

    You are now ready to type using an International Keyboard!
