Things You'll Need:
-
Step 1
Prepare your eyelid by applying eye primer and eyeshadow. It is much easier to apply liquid eyeliner correctly when there is already a cosmetic base because it creates a smooth surface.
-
Step 2
Choose your liquid eyeliner applicator carefully. The thinner and more flexible the felt tip is, the easier it will be to apply the liquid eyeliner.
-
Step 3
Steady your hand and gently lay the tip of the felt applicator onto your upper eyelid at the base of your eyelashes. Move along your lash line slowly, creating a smooth line. Do not pull your skin because when it relaxes, you will not have a smooth line.
-
Step 4
Paint the line along your lashes like a very long wedge. The line should start small near the inside corner of your eye, and grow fuller towards the outside edge.
-
Step 5
To create a cat eye, lay a pencil against the outside corner of your eye and line it up with the angle of your lower lash line.
-
Step 6
If the line tends to look irregular, simply correct any mistakes with some eye makeup remover on a cotton swab. If using the applicator is still difficult for you after several practice sessions, you may want to try an eyeliner brush to apply your liquid eyeliner.
