Whether you need a driving record or any other records, obtaining the information from the DMV is pretty easy. You need to fill out one form and either mail it in or apply in person. Read the steps below on exactly how to obtain them.

      There is one form for obtaining DMV records and can be downloaded online and filled out ahead of time or just filled out while you're waiting in line. You can visit the DMV's website at www.dmv.gov and search for form "INF 1125".

      You will have to get the records in person or by mail. Because it's sensitive information, you cannot obtain DMV records online. You can visit you local DMV by appointment or just a walk in. I like to get to the DMV first thing in the morning to avoid waiting.

      DMV driving records

      If getting your records in person, bring Identification with you as you will have to show it to obtain your driving record. Let the worker know if you want the 10 year record r the 3 year record.

      You will have to pay the $5 fee associated with the application form. You can pay by check or money order. For obtaining your driving record by mail, send the completed application and the fee to:
