Do you have dogs that tend to go on the carpet and need to save money? If you answered yes, then you’ll love this simple but effective technique to get rid of dog urine carpet odors with baking soda. The best way to get rid of dog urine carpet odors is of course to have a dog that doesn’t have indoor accidents. But as pet owners, we know that urine accidents are bound to happen on occasion from our canine friends. Using baking soda is a very inexpensive and easy way to get rid of dog urine carpet odors.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Box of Baking Soda
  • Paper Towels or Recycled Newspapers
  • Regular Towel
  • Vacuum Cleaner
  1. Step 1

Locate the spot that your dog went pee on the carpeting. You can usually see the urine carpet spot because it is darker than other areas of the carpeting.

  2. Step 2

Soak up as much of the dog urine from the carpet as you can with paper towels or recycled newspapers.

  3. Step 3

Sprinkle baking soda all over the dog urine area to help get rid of the urine odor.

  4. Step 4

Rub the dog accident area vigorously with a regular towel for the best urine odor control.

  5. Step 5

    Sprinkle again with baking soda.

  6. Step 6

Allow to set for 15 minutes. Keep your dog away from the dog urine area.

  7. Step 7

Vacuum. The area should no longer have dog urine odor to it.

Tips & Warnings
  • Baking soda can lighten some carpeting, so make certain it's safe to use on the carpet with dog urine odors.
