Make sure the each sock toe is to your left.

Gather your supplies for making the baby sock roses. Work on a flat surface, or the sock will not roll flat and even.

Once you have supplies at hand, take the new socks out of the package. Place one sock in front of you. The toe should be pointing to your left.

  2. Step 2

Roll the sock up. At the toe, begin to roll the sock. Roll it to the right, until you get to the cuff, or the very top part of the sock.

Make sure to roll each sock tightly, so it stays in place and doesn't fall apart. You can loosen it up to make the shape of a rose later.

  3. Step 3
Lightly tug, to loosen to the shape of roses.

Hold the sock in place. Once your get to this point, place your thumbs on the roll, to hold in place.

Use your fingers on each hand to pull the cuff up slightly over the rolled up part. The cuff is there to hold the rose in place. Make sure the cuff is just on the bottom, not completely over the entire roll.

To shape the rose, find the tip of the toe. Pull it up just a little, to make the shape of the rose.

  4. Step 4
Add green floral tape and a 12 inch long piece of wire to complete each rose.

Add green floral tape and a 12 inch long piece of wire to complete each rose.

Insert a piece of 12 inch floral wire at the opening underneath the bottom of the rose. Make sure it's in quite a ways.

Use the green floral tape to wrap the rose and wire in place. Wrap the tape several times on the bottom of the rose so it stays together.

Tips & Warnings
  • These are better than real roses. They keep forever and are not nearly as expensive.
  • If the first one takes you a little longer, that's ok. As you go, you get quicker and understand the process a little better each time.
  • Use baby sock roses in baby sock corsages, wreaths, baby cakes, baby sock bouquets, or the baby's nursery.
