If you have ever lived in a high altitude city, when you have guests they sometimes get high altitude sickness. It's actually pretty easy to spot as the altitude gives the victim a headache, shortness of breath and they become tired. Keeping oxygen in the blood is an important issue to adjust to the high altitude. Here's the steps to quickly adjust to a high altitude.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

When you arrive at the high altitude location, begin to be proactive so you don't get high altitude sickness. Start by drinking more water to help your body adjust to the air.

  2. Step 2

Consider meditating at least once a day so you can focus on deep breathing. Part of what causes so much issue for the sickness is not enough oxygen in your blood. Intentionally, take time to breath deeply.

  3. Step 3

Steer clear of those strenuous hikes the first couple of days when you get to town. This will give your body time to adjust.

  4. Step 4

Consider what you eat and make it healthy. Since you are taxing your body by being in a high altitude it is only natural to give it plenty of energy to work properly.
