Choose one of two formats: announcement by the parents or announcement by the couple. Usually, the bride's parents will announce the wedding, but a more mature couple may opt to announce theie own wedding.

Word a basic wedding announcement from the parents as follows: Mr. and Mrs. James Elliot are honored to announce the marriage of their daughter Josephine Lynn to David Stephen Anderson on July 28, 2011 at St. Benedict Church. For a couple announcing their own wedding: Josephine Lynn Elliott and David Stephen Anderson announce their wedding on July 28, 2011 at St. Benedict Church.

Choose more informal wording, if desired. Begin the wedding announcement with a poem that characterizes the love the couple shares or informs the recipient that the couple eloped.
