How to Make Brown Eyes Pop

How to Make Brown Eyes Pop thumbnail
Make your brown eyes come alive with bright shadows.

The great thing about those brown-eyed girls is that they can easily get away with bold eye makeup. All you need to make your brown eyes shine is a palette of eye shadows with bright colors. Almost any color combination will work, as long as the colors complement brown eyes instead of match them. You can use dark eyeliners and mascara to add definition, but eye shadows should always be brighter colors to liven up the brown in your eyes. You can use blues and purples with pinks, or try greens with oranges. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Apply your makeup as usual -- foundation, concealer and powder.

    • 2

Using a large eye shadow brush, apply your Ivory shadow all over the eyelid. Make sure to apply this from just below the brow line to the top lashline. For added emphasis, use a shimmer taupe eye shadow.

    • 3

Next, apply the darker of the eye shadows (the emerald green) to the outer corner of each eyelid and blend in toward the inner corner. Make sure not to apply this any higher than just below the brow bone. Smooth out any harsh edges with your eye shadow brush from Step 2.

    • 4

Using either your finger or a small eye shadow brush, dab a small amount of your burnt orange eyeshadow onto the center of your eyelid. Blend this into the inner corner of the eye and smooth out any harsh edges.

    • 5

Apply your brown/black eyeliner (either pencil or gel) to your upper lid. Make a thin line across the lashline (it can be heavier for evening) and smudge to avoid a harsh finish. Top with your brown/black mascara to finish the look.

Tips & Warnings

  • To make your brown eyes appear brighter and healthier, line the bottom inner lid with your white eyeliner pencil.

  • Always use eye makeup that is fresh, and don't share it with others so that you don't get an infection.
