Make sure to make a presence in the communities and let everyone know about your website and what you trying to do. There is also some software online that will allow you to do this quickly most are expensive but there are some online that can be downloaded for free.
After that, you need to be ready to write a press release about your website get people hyped up and ready for your website. Make sure to send multiple submissions to different press release web sites to increase your audience. -

Write an article about your website and any subjects that involve your website. This is a great form of advertisement and promotion that will begin to fuel your website traffic and increase your search engine traffic. Submitting articles is free but it does take awhile but you can also download products off the internet that will help with this task.
Another thing you can do is find all web sites that give free web promotions and sign up for them and give them a url to your site so its easy to navigate.
