Maximize Your Benefits With A Life Coach

Whether your currently being coached or looking for a coach, this article can help equip you to make the most of your coaching sessions. It makes little difference whether your sessions are in person, over the phone, or online, however certain tools can help increase productivity; saving you money and time.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A desire to develop yourself beyond your current level of happiness, maturity, or spirituality in order to achieve greater levels of life satisfaction.
  1. Step 1

Whatever endeavor you and your Life Coach choose to embark upon; whether spiritual growth, financial stability, health and wellness, or relationship skills, there are a few key techniques which can greatly enhance your experience. One of the first areas to address is effective communication with your coach. Good communication will help your coach accurately assess your current challenges. Most coaching sessions last somewhere between an hour to 90 minutes, therefore, in order to get the most out of this time I often suggest to my clients that they send emails in between sessions in order to update me on what has gone on since our last meeting. Doing this frees up valuable time, allowing your coach to spend that time addressing specific situations or questions brought up in your email.

  2. Step 2

A second critical key in assuring you receive the most from your coaching relationship is your commitment to be as candid as possible with your coach. Your coach, who is driven to help you succeed, can only be as affective as you allow him or her to be. If you choose to hold back information, whether its due to embarrassment, pride, etc., it can significantly impede your coaches ability to help provide specific and personalized solutions designed to facilitate your success.

  3. Step 3

Lastly, remember your coach is there to help you win; your satisfaction with your coaching relationship and your progress is of the highest importance to your coach. Make sure to tell your coach what's on your mind; what you like or don't like, what you did or didn't do; honesty, a powerful tool, is sometimes neglected due to our desire to control others opinions. Don't fall into that trap; be as transparent and genuine as possible, and prepare yourself to experience success!

Tips & Warnings
  • A proficient coach should be able to help you bring to fruition what most of us cannot do on our own. Have you ever head of an Olympic gold medalist who did not have a coach? Why? Because great athletes, highly successful professionals, and those in flourishing relationships know this secret. An excellent coach can help you discover your strengths, and effectively harness them to help develop your life into it's absolute maximum capability.
