      Start by turning off the filter and shutting off all valves. Take the lid off the pump and pour the filter cleaner into the strainer pot inside.

      Put the lid back on and reconnect all valves.

      Turn the multi-port to the backwash setting and then leave on for eight seconds, or long enough for the cleaner to move from the pot to the filter. Then turn the filter completely off.

      Leave all valves closed and the filter off for twenty-four hours and then open all valves and backwash until the water runs clear.
