Cadillac has greatly improved its styling and design with some unique features for the CTS model, including a new vertically designed headlamp. These headlamps allow for more clarity and better road visibility, both for the driver and any oncoming traffic. The new headlamps feature an LED design that enhances the sharper image of the CTS and gives it a very stylish and elegant look. The Cadillac CTS headlamp has a unique thin and tall profile that makes it appear like a high-tech optical lens. Changing the headlamp on your Cadillac CTS will take you a few minutes, but is well worth it for the money you will save.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Socket wrench set
  1. Step 1

Locate the push pin clips that are on the back of the air deflector grill. You will need to slide under the front of the Cadillac CTS to find these pins on the bottom backside of the grill. Detach the clips by pushing the clips in by hand until they disengage.

  2. Step 2

Open the hood and locate the push pins on the top backside of the grill. Detach these clips by pushing them in by hand until they release. Remove the front grill and and then detach the front fascia pins on the side of the vehicle on which you will be replacing the headlamp. Detach the pins from the end of the fascia to the center to allow the fascia to flex and allow access to the headlamp.

  3. Step 3

Remove the bolts that are holding the front fascia to the side fender with a socket wrench. Carefully slide the front fascia forward to separate it from the side fender and then pull down to remove it.

  4. Step 4

Detach the headlamp from the Cadillac CTS frame by using a socket wrench to undo the three bolts on the backside of the headlamp in the engine compartment. Gently but firmly pull the headlamp forward to detach it from the fender socket. This will require a little bit of force to unseat the ball stud.

  5. Step 5

Pull the headlamp electrical connector from the back of the headlamp and remove the headlamp from the vehicle. Attach the electrical wiring connector to the back of the new headlamp and gently push the headlamp back into the fender socket until you hear the ball stud snap into place.

  6. Step 6

Secure the headlamp with the three bolts that attach to the back of the headlamp. Slide the front fascia back into place and secure it to the fender with bolts. Reposition the front grill and attach it by snapping the pins back into place on the top and bottom of the grill.

  7. Step 7

Turn on the headlamp switch to verify that the headlamp is working properly and then turn the lights off.
