How to Play Belly Laughter

Belly Laughter is a great game for slumber parties or birthday parties when you have run out of ideas on what to do next. The game is also an easy way to break the ice between children who have never met each other before. Belly Laughter can be played anywhere whether it be in your living room or at a park. Chances are, everyone will have fun. All the game requires is at least four people to play.

Instructions

    • 1

      Ask everyone to remove all of their neck jewelry before playing. This is to avoid injury.

      Gather a group of friends. There will need to be at least four in order to play the game. Have everyone lay down flat on their backs in a tight circle, arms on the floor.

      Tell everyone to place their heads gently on the stomach of the person to the right of them. Once everyone has gotten into position, a small circle should be formed and everyone should have their head on someone's stomach.

      Select the oldest or youngest person to begin the laughing process. It doesn't have to be a real laugh. The point is to get the stomach to move up and down. The person with their head on that person's stomach will feel it and eventually laugh because of the strange movement of their head.

      Watch closely as everyone else begins laughing. Soon, everyone will be laughing. The shaking of the stomach will create a chain reaction as everyone begins to laugh.

      Sit back and enjoy the show.

Tips & Warnings

  • Write down the instructions on how to play the game and send them home in a goody bag to use if they ever host a sleepover or party. The game is much more interesting with a group of 8 or more. The bigger the circle means more laughs which ultimately means more fun!
